Q:Why has IPT increased?
A:
It was announced in the June 2010 emergency budget that Insurance Premium Tax (IPT - payable to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC)), will be increased with effect from 04 January 2011, the same date that Value Added Tax (VAT) is also due to be increased.
