Q:Why do your pet insurance premiums go up each year?

We take into account a number of factors when we are rating our pet insurance premiums so that each customer is rated according to their individual circumstances and risk. Some of the factors that influence our pet insurance premiums are:
- the breed of your pet because some breeds are more susceptible to certain medical conditions i.e. some large breeds are more prone to bone and joint problems;
- the age of the pet, as just like people, older animals are more likely to suffer from certain medical problems such as heart, kidney disease and arthritis,
- the area you live in, as this can influence vet fees which are the main reason people claim on their pet insurance and therefore have an effect on pet insurance premiums.
