Q:Does my travel insurance cover me for riots or civil unrest?
A:
You are covered against a riot in the UK, if it happens within a week of your leaving date, your home’s burgled or damaged by fire, and you need to stay behind to sort things out.
But you’re not covered for civil unrest in the place you’re travelling to.
If there was a riot at the UK airport, ferry terminal or train station you were booked to leave from, we’d look at a claim on an individual basis.
